I've just got a dual-CPU machine up and running. I've installed 0.5.4 it, and the kernel in 0.5.4 was compiled with Gcc 2.96 which, I have been told, is an acceptable workaround. With both CPU's enabled on that machine though it's as unstable as a chocolate fire-poker, locking up at random and applications which just do not start up. It looks like a much more general problem with SMP and Syllable 0.5.3/0.5.4 I havn't the faintest what could be causing it. -- Vanders http://syllable.sourceforge.net/ http://www.liqwyd.com |
