We assume a few things about how stats work together.

  • As reported on the character sheet, bonuses from each stat are independent. That is, a Knight's bonus to critical chance from strength does not depend on, or affect, its bonus to critical chance from critical rating.
  • We that enemy damage reduction is not affected by whether an attack critical hits or not.
  • We assume that damage, healing, and damage reduction effects stack multiplicativly. That is, if one has 50% damage reduction from armor, and one has a shield that absorbs 50% of damage, a shielded attack will let 25% of the damage through, rather than blocking all of it. Similarly, it doesn't matter whether a 5% increase to damage (for example from Juyo form) is applied before or after the critical hit is determined.
  • We assume the critical bonus is applied last. This matters when computing the value of an absolute bonus, such as power.
  • We assume that the enemy defense chance is simply subtracted from the player's to-hit chance, as implied by the note that an accuracy over 100% prevents opponents from dodging or parrying.
