Train from staging error

New to your program.
I've a route created from staging A to yard C and then to staging E.
I've setup a train to run that route.
When I try to create a switch list it complains with.
"There are no inbound trains in staging yard. Please select different trains to run."
I've another train for route E-C-A.
But it gets the same error.
What is needed to setup staging trains?
I even created a A-staging switcher, but also that one will not create a switch list.

Looks like the issue was that I did not have an empty track in staging to receive trains on.
Will check it out further.

I'm not clear how you handle staging yards? I've setup a route between two staging yards, but the trains don't run, because it complains there is no free arrival track. As a staging yard there should always be free space.
Since the staging yard trains don't run, the layout has stalled. My interchange yard has cars with shipments waiting to be sent off layout, but the yard is not being serviced.
I can share the data files if needed.
