Currently it's only possible to use switchmap within a single VTP domain. One must create a new instance of switchmap to use it for another VTP domain or L2 structure withouth mixing up VLANs i.e. If there was a thing like a domain switchmap could keep all FDB, ARP, VLAN, IP, data locally within that domain and so run independently for each set of switches/routers.
