Hi, I tried running the Oxygen XML editor ("www.oxygenxml.com") under the SwingWT Classloader, but got a "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: swingwt/awt/event/AWTEventListener" The changes I did to the original oxygem XML launching script are in the diff below, and I put the swingwt folder inside the oxygen folder (where oxygen.sh and my oxygen-swt.sh launcher are). This was run under Sun Java 6, packaged for ubuntu edgy. The full output including traceback is: $ ./oxygen-swt.sh SwingWT BootStrap, Copyright(c)2004 R.Rawson-Tetley This program uses classloading code from the WebOnSwing (http://webonswing.sourceforge.net) and Apache BCEL projects. Yes, SwingWT needs recompiling for your target VM. Version 49.0 is Java 1.4 Simplest thing to do (if possible) is to use your target VM to run the build script. You may be able to adjust the target attribute of the javac tag in the build script to get something more acceptable if you can't run it against your target VM. Hello, It seems to me that swingwt has some problem to work in J9 environment. I have no problems neither in the PDA nor in my PC workstation with SWT = and J9. I tested some applications and they work fine. The problem appears = when I try to use the swingwt. In particular, in the PC I get the error: The java class could not be loaded. = java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: swingwtx/swing/JFrame (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)=20 And in the PDA the error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: (swingwtx/swing/JFrame) bad major version at offset=3D6 I agree with your thought about the byte code version, but I think that swingWT should be recompiled and not SWT. Is there any way to do that? Or maybe something else should be done? Looks to me like your VM is complaining about the bytecode version. Your best bet is to recompile SWT with the compiler you are using to target the mobile device. You need the swt.jar on your classpath. You must also set the java.library.path with -D to the location of the swt native libraries. Have a look at the shell/batch scripts to start the SwingWT demos for more examples. Sorry, SwingWT doesn't support SpringLayout at the moment. I work on SwingWT when I have time, but I'm currently engaged on quite a few other projects so I couldn't say when I'll have time to do it. I did write a layout manager called TableLayout for SwingWT that works rather like a cross between SpringLayout and GridLayout - you might want to try that and since it's compatible with real Swing/AWT you can always lift it out and put it in your app. I'd be pleased to help if you fancy a go at implementing SpringLayout. Try looking here: http://www.thisiscool.com/gcc_mingw.htm The latest build including SwingWT is out of date, but may solve your problems. It uses the MinGW runtime instead of Cygwin's. While it is possible to build with GCJ/Cygwin/MinGW on your own, and is likely easier than it used to be, it took me a lot of hacking until things came together. If this 2 year old build doesn't serve your needs, you can find some inspiration by downloading the source and looking through the Makefile. Hi, I'm a Java developer from Italy... I'm trying to build SwingWT native with GCJ under Cygwin (gcj version 3.4.4): I had to change the Makefile to enable the WIN32 compilation (I don't know how to set the variable) and I finally got the binary libraries swt.dll and swingwt.dll. But, when I try to run the program "swingwtdemo.exe" nothing appends... also when I compile a simple class with a JFrame: the program starts, but it shows nothing. Thank you for interesting |

setSize only works if you are using the null layout manager, otherwise the size should be set by the layout manager itself and setSize will have no effect (I think). You can't set background colours on nearly all SwingWT components since they are native peers and have their colours set by whatever theme is in operation. Hi, If you have a problem getting or keeping an erection, your sexlife can suffer. You should know that you're not alone. In fact, more than half of all men over 40 have difficulties getting or maintaining an erection. This issue, also called erectile dysfunction, occurs with younger men as well. You should know there is something you can do about it. http://parkerokaynow.*com ( Important! You need the SWT jar on your classpath for your platform and the libraries on the library path. Have a look at the swingwt demo startup scripts in the bin folder.
