Here's a plan I'm drawing out for sweep:
large file support
- waveform view caching (peaks etc.)
abstracted file load/save and read/write
- data access abstractions
- plugin support for formats (plugins are currently only used for effects)
+ Sox plugin (exec's sox to read/write, for PCM formats not handled by libaudiofile)
+ Vorbis support (to test out file abstraction, and because Vorbis is cool)
- sweep already has complex undo/redo facilities, but the ability to save/edit/replay edits would be cool. pbd has written a fairly generic EDL library, perhaps we should consider xcdrdao's implementation
plus some new interface stuff.
How are you going with this so far?
I have made a bit of progress with the interface, and would like to step up my attack on multitracking with Sweep.
Multitracking is not a simple task however so I am also willing to help integrate your plan at the same time.
I have also started on a small addition to the selection. Basically just to change the background colour of a selection.
I still haven't figured out how to get the reverse plugin working. I'll have another read of the doc though.
