#10 yes, perl program please

Hi, I too have problems launching a perl executable in
the config file.
I wanna know how this is done.
For example:
if you put
"exec perl /path/executable.pl $0"--->executes a perl
program???what the $0 and $* in the config file do?
could you give a simple example please?
