In reviewing this issue, it occurs to me that it's somewhat out of scope to try to offer a complete comparison of Subversion and, say, Git. Presumably, a person reading this book is doing so because they want to know about Subversion. That said, the "Is Subversion the Right Tool?" section was a bit stale in light of the DVCS explosion. I've taken a pass at trying to at least draw attention to that VC approach and its major players as a way of hopefully giving readers cause to pause and consider whether there's more research they need to do before diving into Subversion.
