This ticket actually describe 2 bugs.
They were found on Sonic Visualiser 2.3, running on Windows 8.1.
When you open a file via File>Open, the main window loses its focus and goes to the background.
Steps to reproduce:
a) Open any window of any program (Explorer, browser, Paint, Solitaire, etc), and keep the window open (not minimized), just to see the bug ocurring.
b) Open Sonic Visualiser.
c) Go to File>Open, and open any file (.sv or audio).
d) Voilà! SV window goes to the background!
I don't know exactly how to describe the second bug, so I will start with the steps to reproduce it:
a) Open a file in SV.
b) Maximize SV window.
c) Create a new template and set it as the default for new files.
d) Close SV.
e) Open a file in SV either by "Open with" in Windows Explorer, or by command line (passing the file name as argument to Sonic Visualiser.exe).
f) The SV window opens at a strange position, putting some part of the window offscreen.
I looked inside the template file I just created (in %USERPROFILE%\.Sonic Visualiser\templates) and realized that SV saves the window size along with the template, but not its position nor its maximized-state. So, I tried to delete the window size values, and the bug was corrected, that is, SV then uses its default window state values.
So, I think there are two options to solve this bug. One, is to save all the window state values inside the template, or to not save any (which I think is better, because SV already saves its window state in its config).
