I always hoped I get back here. I dont know if I ever shall. I'm marking the project as dead so as to not raise anyones hopes.
The CVS is once again up to date with my developments, and hopefully it will stay that way. I am activily working on development. If you want to try the software, be my guest. Lemme know how it goes.
Most everything in the CVS works, beta basically. Just a good portion of features haven't been writen in yet.
Well, I am still alive, and still programming. Currently I am college with a stupid firewall which allows me not the luxury of updating the CVS repo. Work is progressing slowly, but streadily.
Well I knowticed that I promised alot more than got delivered. I am going to still be working on SURRE, honest. Since I have gone off to college I can't update the CVS anymore (bitchy firewall). I have downloaded the tar ball myself and begun to work on it. I am going to revise it and get the basic workings in place. I am not that far off I just kinda dropped off before. If you would like to help please contact me.
I like SF and all, but their CVS Repo doesnt work half time time. Sometimes it gives me strange errors and crap, now it just goes through like there is nothing changed (Which I know for a fact that there is). One of these days I will sync with the repo and be able to put out this software.
There will be a beta release, the first, by the end of the week. I promise. It wont be anywhere near complete, but it will have a basic version of almost everything on hand.
I upgraded to Perl 5.8 today since it was released this morning. Nothing has changed and the programs still work (to the best of my knowledge). I will be doing all devel in Perl5 8, but it should be backwards compatable.
Well I hoped to release some files by now, but its taking longer than I hoped. Actuall I am just trying to have more features done before the first shipping. Keep in mind it will be no where near complete, but alot of user functions will work! Plus all the daemon errors have been fixed. i have to do a new MySQL dump to get the CVS up to date with my system.
We very soon will be having out first file release (yea). Its still in very basic stages but the backend is esentially done and it will be a workable user system soon (login logout, user stuff, etc).
We are finishing the Alpha stages of our program and are begining to get ready to move into beta. Most features arent there but the base is in place and things are starting to shape up. Stay tune and we might actually have a file release with in the next week.
Well it took the SF crew more than enough time to tell me to type a single command to fix my problem (I have to go around switching my group). This mean I get to go work on the site now (or at least have access). Also in other news the CVS is starting to get cleaned up and etc so it will contain some good working code.
Well we wont be getting a website from sourceforge, thanks SF. At least not any time soon. Their system is not properly creating projects (at least with the right file perms in the group directory). So I gave em a support request, I posted some additional info to help (because I want to clear the first time). Now my support has been downgraded to level 1 (the lowest). If might be a few weeks before they have to to type "chmod".
The CVS has been fixed by SF, thanks. But as of yet I would not sugest downloading it. Its kinda a shamble of files, examples and assorted code. I will put new news up when we have something better. In the mean time stop by the Document Manager and read whats there. Couple of code snips and what not there. -Jon
We here at SURRE need help. Any developer that know HTML/PERL/MYSQL thats intrested in helping, let me know. resquad@users.sourceforge.net
I thought I would use the DocManager since it is here. Read there for all the little blurbs and things
