-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
as part of my fix for the 'karts start off track' bug I introduced a
maximum for the number of karts to be used (currently 10).
The only reason for this limit is that some tracks needs the exact
starting positions (i.e. the default positions computed are not good
enough, e.g. if the starting location is in a curved section of the
track, see island track with 10 karts). I added 10 starting positions
for these tracks (island/tuxtrack/subsea track). If more than 10 karts
would be used, the additional karts would start on the old default
positions, and we would have the same bug again.
If we want to increase the maximum number of karts, we just have to
1) change this maximum number of karts in data/stk_config.data
2) add the starting position in all tracks that need explicit
3) Check with all(!!) tracks that all the new maximum number of
karts all start on valid/good looking positions.
So no recompilation necessary.
If anyone feels that 10 karts is too low a limit, just send me the
updated starting positions (or commit them), and we will change this.
The positions are specified in the data/*track file, a vector of x/y/z -
positions, and heading. If no values are specified, the defaults are
being used (see track.cpp::getStartCoords).
I found it easiest to open the track model in blender, put cubes at the
starting positions, and rotate them to face forward. Then let blender
display the coordinates and angles (transform properties, press 'n'),
and add them to the track file.
