What about: "singele track > race" ... probably too long. Any other ideas? Well, when you select the number of laps, and the track, it would be customized :p That's what I thought. But it can't be single track race, if it has a custom list of tracks either ? What I want is to separate what is now the Grand Prix as a 'progression mode' (we give players the option to choose a Prix, that are made the way the game is meant to be played to be the most fun, and players unlock hidden features), and what is now the Quick Race (players choose all the possible options and do things the way they think that will be the most fun). > > Second, I don't want more than one number of laps entry in the .cup > > I assume you mean more than one set of number of laps for each track? > Or do you prefer to have each track the same number of laps in a GP? Oh, my mistake. I meant the .track file, not the .cup file. > The GP should be designed to come in three flavours: short, medium, > and long (except perhaps the 'all tracks GP', which will be XL ... if we leave > it in). I wonder, it could be simplified if we just use short for easy, medium for uh, medium difficulty, and long for hard difficulty? > > Another thing is that I think we should keep the time to complete a > > track between 1 minute and 15 seconds and 3 minutes and 30 seconds as > > a hard limit, with an average time of ~2 minutes. Of course, these results where weighted with > the number of times certain tracks were used. I wrote what I think it's our ideal time, not what we have now :) however, I didn't meant the time to complete 1 lap, but to complete all laps, so the decision of how much time a track should take is unrelated to the length of a track, since we can just raise or lower the number of laps as we see fit. > > racing game; shorter tracks are better than long tracks because of > > this. I didn't wrote it, because I assumed it would be obvious (probably I assumed wrongly), but I think that each track should be run at least two times. > > And one last thing: I think that the input dialog would be best > > implemented as part of the widget manager, as an extra feature widgets > > could enable. > It could be a separate windows which pops up (maybe semi-transparent over > the original menu?) Well, I would want to avoid pop-ups, just for consistency, and that pop-ups might be a bother at times(I would rather like to know where the text I will write appears before I start writing). -Coz |
