Try to join our IRC channel #stk on freenode. The main developers can be found there mostly between 21:00 and 03:00 UTC, I realise this is a rather inconvenient time interval for someone from India so I suggest jumping in immediately and see who you run in to. C++ is the language used, so you can just start with looking into the code a bit and perhaps solve one of our bugs listed on http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/supertuxkart/report/1. Of course if you have any more questions you can also just ask them on the mail list.

Kind regards,

Hi everyone,

I'm an undergrad student in IT engineering in India and I'm new to Open Source. I was looking for an organisation to work for and STK really excites me as i'm a passionate gamer too. I'm really interested in contributing for the community and i need some guidance to how to go about it as I'm a newbie, when it comes to OpenSource. I'm familiar with C++ and Python with the skill level being intermediate. But i'm a quick learner and am excited about learning more and working for SuperTuxKart.
Please guide me on how to start with it, i'm really looking forward to it. :)

Awaiting your guidance,
