We could use a feature to play only the part of the video that belongs to the selected subtitle (or subtitles). With a hotkey of course.
And with some options in the settings: the time in ms before and after the subtitle's timecode.
For example in the settings I set 1000 ms before and after. In this case when I want to play the video part of the subtitle that has this timecode: 00:00:03,000 --> 00:00:05,000 SW plays the video from 02,00 to 06,00 and then pauses.

so, is ctrl+[space] too hard? shift-double clicking the line in the list already goes 1sec back, all you need to do is pause it yourself after

Thanks for you very constructive comment. I know that there are other ways for this, but somebody else asked me and I did it.
We already have that feature in the requests list. It will come one day. Plus a loop option.
