I am creating subtitles from scratch. I stumbled across a method that I
don't see anywhere in the 6.0 help files. I would like to know if there is
a better work plan than this, or if there are shortcuts to do what I am
    doing.

First, slow down the video (Movie/Playback rate), type in the subtitles
(Ins key to start a new subtitle) (jump back 5 sec using Ctrl + Left
    Arrow). Save.

Note the times won't be right.

Now go through the video and add times in this way:

    • using the down arrow keyboard key with one hand, and the mouse
hovering on the current video time (on the far right of the progress bar)
with the other, listen to the video.
    • when the spoken word matches the first word of a subtitle, click on
the current time. This puts that time in the Show field.
    • Quickly hit the down arrow (keyboard) to ready the next subtitle, and
wait until its first word is spoken. Click the current time again.
    • Repeat.

Note, until you get good at this, you can hit the pause button as you hear
the word being spoken, then click on the current video time to add it to
the Show field, then click on the next subtitle and start the video up
    again.

Depending on video length, you probably want to stop from time to time and
do the next step, before moving on setting the Show times.

You're not done yet. You've set Show times but not Hide times. So do this:

    • select all the subtitles you have set show times for
    • Edit/Timings/Extend length to next (Ctrl Shift E) - this moves the
HIde time to 0.2 sec before the next one shows (set that amount in
      Edit/Timings/Set pauses...

Note - if you have a bunch of subtitles that you haven't "timed" yet, those
times may overlap with the section you're working on, so it may not preview
    correctly. Fix this this way:

    • Select the last subtitle you have set timing for.
    • Edit/Timings/Set delay... and set the delay to one minute later than
current, and choose the option "from first selected until last subtitle."
This pushes everything back a minute so it's not interfering with your
      current titles.

So, again, my question is -- is there a faster way to do this? Is there a
shortcut for my step of clicking on the current video time and having that
    apply to the Show time?

Thank you for making a great, robust product, and making it free!! I saw
somewhere that you are uruguayos: felicidades, ta!.

I tried to do as instructed in this post, clicking over the time indication on the far right just below the screen, but nothing happened... What am I missing?
