I'm using version 6.0a and noticed that tags are lost after closing the .srt file. I've tried various tag options in the settings, but the result is the same. I haven't tested other tags or file formats.

You must use:
Settings > Settings > Tags mode: Multiple tags mode
to preserve all tags. Make sure this option is selected.
If it is and you're still loosing tags, please give us more details, and a full example if possible.

I've selected this option, and I've also tried it with Single Tags Mode. I made sure I did not select Auto Delete Tags, of course.
I noticed this when I opened a previous file from SW 2.51, which had lost all of the italics (< i >) tags. Then I tested this with various files and the tags are always gone. They don't appear in the save file if I open it in Notepad.
These were all .srt (SubRip) files. I'm using Windows 7.

You will lose tags when you open a file in SW 2.51 because it doesn't support multiple tags like SW6 does. Don't mix the two version.
Otherwise there's no way you can lose tags in SW6 for SubRip files.
If you're still losing tags, send me an example file that you open in SW6 and you lose the tags.
