I downloaded an mp4 , and the .srt with it. It seems to have strange timings with it. They worked when running online , but not offline. Is there a way to fix this and recalibrate the timings for offline use ? Grateful for any advice.

Hi - Thanks for getting back. I did attach a sample above. I'll put it again below.
All the text in the srt is correct , and in the right order. The timing seems to be set as running from the line above , rather than from the very beginning of the file. When watching online they all showed correctly. Somehow in the attached srt they need to be added to each other consecutively to get the correct timing to run offline.
Grateful for your help.

It's not possible to advice without a sample of the problem.

Too many problems here.
1.
Your subtitle has LF CR more than allowed.
Between timecodes, it's allowed just one LF CR.
2.
Almost all start timecodes begins zeroed.
You must fix them.
I'm attaching your sample after fix LF CR error.
But you have to fix all the start timecodes.

Ok Thanks. I don't know how the start timecodes became zero in this way. I don't think there is an easy fix beyond starting again. (:
Thanks again...
Where is the link of the online video?
Unfortunately in this instance it's a subscription site , so it couldn't be opened from here without the login details.
That's OK.
So, no way to try to help you to fix the subs.
