    Hello friends,

I'm in deep trouble right now and I hope someone can help me. I've been working on a subtitle (SRT) for the last two days and suddenly the landlord decided to change my electricity meter without letting me know. After power was restored and I tried opening the file to resume work, the worst had happened: "X is a bad subtitle or an unsupported format". When trying to open it on a text editor, the file was totally blank, even though the side scrollbar indicated that there was content in it, and I could even copy and paste the whole block of "blank text", but this gets me nowhere. I can also see the file is not totally blank because its 43Kb in size. So, my question is: is there a way to restore it? Thank you very much in advance!

If you saved file several times, you can try to use some kind of file restore utility.
Last time I was in trouble, Recuva helped me.

Yes, as Bedazzle said, Recuva or other similar recovery software may help this case.

I have EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional v5.5.1 and it could restore all my files from a wrong partition mistake. That partition became unusable. After EASEUS, all files came to life.

For future, always make backup in another disk (even on a pendrive) while you're working on a important job. There are several ways to do that while you work, even using Windows Task Scheduler.
