When I'm time coding my subtitles I came across this problem of setting pause. I can set pause manually by clicking clock icon under time controls section. But I don't want to use my mouse everytime to do that rather I want a shortcut which can do the same. I googled to find that but I turned unsuccessful. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

It seems that you didn't read SW Manual.
Program has plenty of shortcuts to do almost any task.
At Menu, go to Movie/Playback/Play-Pause and you'll see the hotkey:
To pause video use CTRL-Space. To resume it, CTRL-Space again.
To go to any line of the grid, ALT-Enter.
To navigate lines, Shift- Enter.
And so on.
If you want to write your own shortcuts, edit file shortcuts.key, as said at Manual.
