marking overlapping subtitle (with the "Mark Overlapping" choice available) i discover some overlapping subtitles.
well, it could be useful to have automatic features to fix these overlapping subtitles, performing, for example, these actions:
- if two subtitles are just "touching" (the previous subtitle end-frame equals the next subtitle start-frame) then just add "one frame" to the next subtitle start-frame.
- if two subtitles are real overlapping (the previous subtitle end-frame is greater than the next subtitle start-frame) then let the user the choiche on how to fix the problem or, if the user let the program to fix the problem, compute the middle-point between the two overlapping edge and shift the two overlapping edge a frame above/below to this middle-point
if the user choose to fix the problem himselfe, when the program is in "Mark Overlapping" mode and an overlapping subtitle row is selected by the user, could be useful to automatically open a little popup window with both subtitles showed, with their frame-edge showed and with two little "time-duration-bar" that graphically show the time-duration of both subtitles to permit to the user to quickly determine in what direction fix the problem (the user look at the char lenght, look at the duraton bar and perform a fix to the overlapping problem).
a set of buttons could helps the user to quickly fix the problem: "move only the 'subtitle-A end frame'", "move only the 'subtitle-B start frame'", "move both 'subtitle-A end frame' and 'subtitle-B start frame' around the computed mid-point".
Yes yes yes... i started using only recently "subtitle processor" and this is the only
thing i long for that already is not available... please include this feature and don't
turn your backs on the best subtitle editor around (former beloved was subcreator)
