I'm testing as we speak. ;)

A bug in a MS product and everyone blames everything but the product. Typical. Well having the blogID be an int wouldn't break Subtext, since our blog id IS an int. I wonder if changing that would break any other MetaWeblogAPI clients. Just thinking out loud here.

The work around for word I did a while ago for our internal blogging system at work was to have a seperate handler for word posting.  This isn't really a proper solution and I'll have a quick look tomorrow for a solution.

Btw, Word thinks BlogId needs to be an integer not an object as I previously said.

Cheers!

Anyone have time to look into whether we can provide a workaround for Word?

Unfortunately Word doesn't adhere to the Metaweblog API in all cases.  In the case of newMediaObject, Word will never work with Subtext because of a bug in their implementation of the method.  In newMediaObject there is a blogId which is passed as an object instead of a string which causes word to think that your blogging engine does not support newMediaObject.

Yea, I came to the conclusion it was a word issue at the time; but didn't look into it further.

Might be an idea *grin*

Does MS Word not use MetaWeblogAPI's newMediaObject? [http://www.xmlrpc.com/metaWeblogNewMediaObject]

Just trying to confirm that it's a MS Word issue, and not a Subtext problem.

Yes. It doesn't work. I mentioned it a while back when I discovered it
