The problem manifests itself when playing back MP3 but it's really evident when transcoding to OGG/Vorbis. With mp3, the symptoms are random pauses in playback of the track, while it's still being cached, despite the fact that there is already enough data downloaded to avoid pausing. When transcoding to OGG, the symptoms are that tracks begins to download and play. After a few seconds, the playback restarts from the beginning of the track. The restarted track then abruptly stops playing in the middle of the song. Attaching logcat output that shows the entire sequence. Problem was reproduced on stock Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 firmware from Google (NOT a custom ROM).
