Hey, congrats on 6.0beta1 - really digging the "no flash" experience!

One thing I've noticed is that on my browser (Firefox 44.0.2 on Mac OS El Capitan), the playlist sometimes gets "stuck" (the player freezes up) and I have to manually click the next item on the list... It's never on the same files, so I'm guessing the player is the problem.

Anything else I can provide you with to debug this? Cheers,

Bump, as I am also having this problem. Attached is a screenshot of my "frozen" player. skipping forward to the next track via >| fixes it for a song or two, then it sticks again. I'm running 6.1.1

Happens on Chrom, by the way, Windows 7.

It could be related to the fact that Subsonic estimates the "Content-Length" http header when transcoding. This means that the number of bytes reported in "Content-Length" doesn't match exactly with the actual number of bytes, which could confuse the browser.

As a work-around (and possibly better solution) Chrome now supports native Flac playback, so try to remove flac from the list of transcoded formats in Settings > Transcoding.

Many thx Sindre! I am using Subsonic v. 6.1.beta2 and removing "flac" worked flawless. No more issues with Flac.

Is there any possibility of having this issue addressed in an upcoming release? Transcoding FLAC files is a really nice feature to reduce bandwidth constraints. Thanks!

Same problem here. I wouldn't mind removing the flac transcoding for playing on desktop, but having the transcoding option for mobile is essential. Bump.

    Same issue.

I've been having this issue since I rebuilt my server recently. Current setup Ubuntu Server 16.04, Open JDK 8, Subsonic 6.1.1.

Strangely my previous server didn't have this issue. Past setup was Ubuntu Server 14.04, Open JDK 6 or 7, Subsonic 6.1.1.

All my music is FLAC so this is a deal breaker. I might downgrade my Subsonic just to get back up and running.

Hi, this issue also happens to me with no transcoding at all, please see screenshotץ
It doesn't happen at the end of the track so it is not related to the "Content-Length" issue, perhaps session dies?

Is this going to be fixed anytime soon>

+1, this is an absolute dealbreaker for mobile users. It shouldn't take six months to fix something that didn't used to be broken.

The version released just a few days ago seems to have fixed the issue (6.1.3 (build e408c9) – October 31, 2017)

Mine would stop playing after every flac file and this hasn't happened since the upgrade. I've listened to several full albums with no issues.

Another change in behavior can be seen in logs. On previous versions, there would be numerous transcode commands going on for each song, more as time went on. Now there is only one transcode command per flac file played.

6.1.3 seems to have corrected the issue for me as well; running the latest build on FreeBSD 11 with Java 8. Thanks!
