The only one I've verified is the semicolon but it also looks like commas cause the same problem. The interface start off correctly and the songs look like they're beginning to load. The song never actually plays, the downloaded size stays at 0 kB, and the notification in the task bar will not go away until the playlist is cleared. The player doesn't lock, clicking the stop button will change its icon to a play icon, but the notification will persist forever until the playlist is cleared. This doesn not happen with the web interface. The logs show that the server is trying to start the stream repeatedly every couple of seconds. Changing the semicolon to an underscore makes everything work fine.

I wasn't able to reproduce your bug with Subsonic 4.5. What I did was created a file called "Test;.mp3" and started playback which worked just fine, so I could not observe the behavior you have been describing.

Maybe this issue has been fixed in 4.5?

I'm an idiot, pretty sure I meant colon not semicolon. I haven't tried 4.5 yet though. Maybe you could try Test:.mp3, Test,.mp3, and Test_.mp3 (those are all ringing a bell) and if neither of them reproduce the problem I'll try and reproduce it on my end with the original tracks the exhibited the problem. I don't remember exactly what it was so it may take me a little while to find it since I got around this by renaming some tracks. Thanks!

Hey dkomisar, sorry for not replying any sooner.

I gave it a try and created three files with file names including colon, comma, and underscore, respectively. Using Subsonic 3.1 (the latest as of now), I was able to play all three. In each case, playback started immediately.

Not sure why your problem doesn't emerge in my environment but I suspect a server-sided issue. Are you running the Subsonic server under Linux or some other OS? FWIW, I'm using Ubuntu Linux with UTF-8 encoding.
