SMPTE (HH:MM:SS:FF) timings option
Hello, I'm writing a tool to edit srt files and maybe we can implement extra parameters like font size, position (left, center, right), border style (none, solid, double), shadow (px-x, px-y, color), top position(top, middle, bottom)? I got these questions from users and maybe it's time for an 'advanced srt version' like ass/ssa? My tool is already on sourceforge (Subtitle Editor - https://sourceforge.net/projects/srt-editor/). Br, Nico
srt files are actually encoded in ANSI even if they are detected as UTF-8-BOM
Saving like this in srt file: - - xA340 million?! You're having me on! - No, Scout's honour. Should be like this: - £40 million?! You're having me on! - No, Scout's honour. In Version 1.57.1, I am having above issue. Not in 1.56.1 version. Workaround:: if you copy the content of the file and then paste in another document it is fine in notepad++. another example is, version 1.57.1 - It's the final communiqu鮊 - The final...?! Version 1.56.1 - It's the final communiqué. - The final...?!
The file seems to contain time marks but no text. How do I get an SRT file?
Hi, N00b here. Is there a way to OCR Japanese subtitles with SubRip? If so, how? So far, I've only been able to export subtitles as BMP files, without OCR. That said, I also get weird frames, bringinging back old memories of the good old VCR days. (See the attached picture of a not-so-successful frame...) Any tips on that? Anyway, thank you very much! Etienne
Hi Oliver, thank you so much for the quick reply, and for the explanation.

Hello Nicholas, I currently don't know of amy way to change/resize the character selection box, as this is done by the engine. If it only happens once, you may enter the whole text of the text line...

Without such documentation (in English, please), I would be lost and I could not use the true abilities of this software which required so much hard work to develop. Thanks

There simply is no other way. Creating .sub files is beyond Subrip's purpose, which is to get rid of .sub files, not to create them. Fortunately, there are lots of utilities out there which can convert any [.srt] subtitle text into...
