I am using submount 0.6 on Redhat 9. And I manage my
USB floppy and internal floppy drives with subfs. I
test the same floppy disk in USB floppy and internal
floppy. There are 10 file in my floppy disk. Some of
them are word format, some are Excel format, some are
PDF format. It take about 50 seconds to read in USB
floppy drive when I luanch nautilus file manager; and
it takes about 30 seconds in internal floppy drive. Why
USB floppy is so slow? Anything improved in later
submount version?
Thanks.

Because USB 1.1 transfers date more slowly than the ISA bus that the
internal drive uses.
