I just got .str format working today. I did hope to publish the alpha today
but a few bugs have been created due to the new object infrastructure which
need fixing. Sunday? I'll probably hold a group conversation also when
people
have had time to view the new release.

btw, the game and editor are now integrated. I suggest that you see if the
editor is usable or not; if it isn't we can work to find another third party
editor with a file format that I can program the editor to understand. Also,
you might be interested that the editor can support multiple formats
(currently
.obj and .str) and can therefore act as its own convertor. The game also
supports multiple formats, because of their integration, but I'd rather not
use that feature.

I could make a test map, or you could just go into
data\galaxy\maps\fight_1.map
and replace a cube.str with a test.str. I'll probably do what you suggest
anyway.
