It requires the latest Structure Synth sources available form the CVS and is not very user friendly at the moment (it requires some hand-editing of the .lxs scene in order to fix the camera and light placement). Some Luxrender rendering example can be found here: http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=585
I'm working on an exporter for Blender too.
Cheers,
David

Your Luxrender examples look very nice indeed - I'll try out your template exporter once I manage to get a Luxrender build up and running.
As of now the templating exporter scheme is pretty much being prototyped and documentation is complety lacking, but if you have any requests for changes or features, please let me know! I plan to add some variables to make it possible to export the camera position/orientation and some view frustrum settings, but other than that I'm currently just playing around with the code.
Best Regards, Mikael.

It is even better then directly exporting to Luxrender because, once inside Blender, you can easy place camera, lights and/or add other items. After you can export to Luxrender (or any other rendering engine supported by Blender). Some screenshot example is available here http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=585

It is very nice to able to position camera and lights directly in an integrated environment (I guess it also means that I finally have to learn Blender).
Please add your rendering of the sphere (the one with the light source inside) to your Flickr account - it is a very nice rendering!
Regard, Mikael.

Hi to All!
My question is not a lot of not in a theme, but I very much wish to know:
How to export object from StructureSynth in 3dsmax????
Whether I can keep object in a format *.stl or *.obj???
Thanks.

As of now you cannot export directly to *.obj or *.stl format.
One possible solution would be to take a look at the Blender import script (described earlier in this thread), and import your object into Blender and export from here in a format 3DS Max can read.
Best regards,
Mikael.

Hi,
I wrote a little exporter (i.e. rendertemplate) for Structure Synth and Luxrender (http://www.luxrender.net). It is available here: http://davibu.interfree.it/structuresynth/luxrender.rendertemplate

Hi Mikael,
I wrote a small generic exporter template too and an importer for Blender(http://www.blender.org/). The template is available here http://davibu.interfree.it/structuresynth/generic.rendertemplate and the Blender importer here http://davibu.interfree.it/structuresynt/ss_importer2.py

Opss, the right link is http://davibu.interfree.it/structuresynth/ss_importer2.py
