Hey I thought I'd let others know that I put up a new project that can decode magnetic cards (and even act as an access control system) on sf. It uses a mono jack soldered directly to a mag head and processes the raw waveform. It's java based (i know i know) but it does work on linux and windows and untested on mac (their laptops dont have a mic in).
It does some more advanced things like CRC/LRC corrections, weighted moving averages, missing peak detection etc. I post here because stripesnoop was the first magcard project I used and it's what originally got me excited about magcards.
