This release does not introduce any major changes to the game. It is mostly focused on performance improvements and bug fixes. For more information see the readme.txt.
Beta v0.8 brings a lot of changes focused mostly on the multiplayer part of the game. It is now possible to play games with more than two players (up to 63 in theory, but more than 10 players are not recommended for now). In addition to that the game supports dedicated servers now (Windows&Linux). Due to all these changes, the way a multiplayer game is setup has also changed completely; players enter a game lobby now before playing a song, where the lobby leader has to select the song, difficulty and mode for each game.
Now it is finally possible to actually see the other player in multiplayer, either in Split-Screen or Picture-in-Picture. Apart from that, thanks to Irrlicht v1.5, SoS also supports joysticks now.
Apart from the usual bugfixes, the changes in this release are:
-added an option to the config to change the volume of the guitar if the player made an error
-made hopos strummable
-custom hopo-notes can now be added to the game now(data/hopo.dae)
-changed the fonts
-improved the way the background image is resized
Beta v0.5 introduces the following changes:
-the HOPO system has been improved
-added a theme file to allow more customization
-highscores are displayed in the menu
-notes disappear now after they have been played
In addition to support for custom key and note models, Beta v0.4 also allows left-handed gameplay. Apart from that it is now possible to compile the source code under Linux.
This new version has several bugfixes as well as more customization options.
Beta v0.3.1 can now be downloaded. It is mostly a bugfixing release.
