New Features Dev

Is there an up-to-date dev mailing list / help for streamsicle / fluid? The list at SF has postings only until 2003.

We are trying to work on a simple (& cheap) OSS for multicasting university lectures to students who cannot afford access to expensive courses (either audio or audio-visual). After going thru different projects we find that streamsicle / fluid could be a good starting point.

Hence, the questions, have people already worked in this direction? What formats? Is there any off-trunk source code (even if not stable build) in this direction, which we could get from the CVS repo?

Also, how can we register to a dev mailing-list (if any).

    Thanks in advance,
    Christine Le Dreo

      Hi Christine,

There hasn't been active development on Streamsicle in the last few years, so that's why there's no activity in the development mailing list. That being said, the software still works and we use it occasionally, so you're welcome to take it and use it as you wish. The audio streaming is quite stable and can be used for a fairly large number of users (limited mainly by bandwidth). There is no video streaming support.

      Good luck,
