According to the website (http://www.stixfonts.org/), STIX version 2.0 is "expected to be released by early 2015". But now there is still no news yet. So we are wondering when will be the new release date.
Development of version 2.0 is nearing completion. We don't have a target date as we are still working through some issues, however we hope to release no later than early 2016. We appreciate your patience and interest in the upcomiong release.
I highly appreciate all of the work (and cash) that has gone in to the STIX project, but it would help if the project administrators would update the project web site more often than once every two years, just to keep the users of the STIX fonts in the loop. The last projected release date on this forum was early 2016, but it's now mid-2016 and no public updates of the ETA. If the administrators just publicy stated a realistic deadline of, let's say, mid-2017, people would understand: this is a complex project, after all.
We regret the lack of transparency with regard to the release date for STIX version 2.0. We were unable to meet our projection for an early 2016 release and are now targetting the release for third quarter 2016. The web site will be updated accordingly in the near future.
Hello. It seems that we are arriving at the end of the third quarter. Any update on the release plan? Or can you please update the website again to indicate the new goal?
During the final phase of testing a problem was uncovered related to subscripts in XeTeX. It is not readily apparent whether the problem is with the font or the application, but we felt it was significant enough to delay the release until we have a clearer understanding and better yet a resolution. Information will be posted when it's available.
Dear stipub, do you have any news with regard to the release date to share?
FYI, the website now indicates "The STIpub companies are pleased to announce that STIX version 2.0.0 will be released on December 1, 2016."
We are pleased to announce that STIX version 2.0.0 was released earlier today!
