In your commit 5263 you say you have re inserted this texture for "added textures/logo24bits.png for allow running Stellarium's splash without installing of binaries - a backward compatible for some developers " What is meant by this. What platform are you developing on. I obviously don't have the binaries you are referring to. Thanks Alex I am away at the moment and only have my laptop XP and Vista. I will do a test build in Vista later. When I get home I will try Win 7. I don't like Windows 7. It does not let me do many things I need without a "protest" I use it only when necessary. I also build in Linux when necessary to check builds. Hi Alex If the logo24bits.png is in the textures folder of the user area it will be found on startup. It does not need to be in the main stellarium\textures folder.Are you sure your windows build does not have a seco nd copy in the path somewhere. Hi Alex Yes I know you have a clean build. But don't forget that stellarium looks in the user area for any "last minute changes". You also have the environment variables that list all the places Windows should look for data. I build the release version only. The development version calls for a different splash. Is that the reason? I don't quite get what you mean by which cmake the compiling instruction calls for Cmake 2.8 and that is the one I have always used although I think cmake-2.8.1 is the current version. Now I change cmake for use differenced splashes and include in installation package only one splash. It work fine for all my instances but maybe it not very good for other developers. If you have changed the default instruction to :- cmake -G "MSYS Makefiles" -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release ../.. We need to put a notation in the instructions although I see no real need for such a change to the splash except when we decide to release a reelease candidate or special issue. Look in the textures folder, there is a cmake.txt file there that without this instruction will rename the file to suit the build format. If you don't use the cmake command with the suffix, the logo24bits.png will be renamed to something else and nolonger exist so it won't be found.
