But there is another alternative - you can use svn and get the latest sources if you want something fresher. I've been using svn sources for stellarium ever since 0.9.0 or thereabouts, on first Debian Lenny and now Intrepid Ubuntu (now using 64 bit too). svn is a way to get the most recent version - what the developers are working on, and you only download the changes that have been submitted since the last download. Stellarium isn't too hard to build, and if you're comfortable going that route, I may be able to help or offer pointers. > think stellarium should either have an apt server or .debs available > for download of every release, from the site, along with .exe and .dmg > packages. Well, it would be nice of course. Don't know how practical that is for the Stellarium wiki to host that, and it's available for ubuntu - but only 0.9.1 in Intrepid. According to "aptiitude show stellarium" the maintainer and original maintainer of the package is listed, and you could write to either or both of them saying you'd like 0.10 to be included. It is too late for Intrepid, but maybe for the next Ubuntu? Maintainer: Ubuntu MOTU Developers <ubu...@li...> |
