    Some very important features are still in development, there's uncertainty about the copyright status of one of the Windows components, and the release will probably annoy a lot of people, because it breaks some stuff.

    No sooner than mid-April, and that's a very optimistic forecast.

    Why not hold of making a release if things are going to get broken. I mean like why bother?

    As said before, the next release will have some major changes to how the source code is assembled. This requires a lot of work and as all work on stellarium is voluntary we can't promise when it will be ready for release.

    If you wish to see the progress you can make your own build environment as per the instructions in the Wiki and build your own test version to see what some of the changes are.

    Otherwise please be patient.
