i have tried to add to my stellarium 11.0 the great comets list from this
when i switched the ssystem.ini file, nothing happened.
stellarium still works properly, but there aren't any new objects.
can somebody help me?
You seem to have CSS turned off.
Please don't fill out this field.
Two things to check on
1. is the object you seek in the new ssysytem.ini ( a text editor can be used to check)
2. Where did you place the new ssystem.ini. Stellarium looks first in the data folder of your user area and then in the data folder of your stellarium installation. If you already have a ssystem.ini file in the user area this is the place to put the
thanks for good will, but it didn't help. any other suggestions?
Did you check in documents and settings\application data\stellarium\data
note: application data is a hidden file. you will need to make it visible.
You probably have another copy of ssystem.ini there and this is being read.
If you can't find the file, delete the copy in c:\program
files\stellarium\data and see if stellarium still loads. If it does this will
confirm that there is another copy somewhere.
i have replaced the ssystem.ini file in C:\Documents and Settings\Application
Data\Stellarium\data, and stellarium crashes several seconds after the
startup. when I deleted the new file and placed there the original file,
stellarium started to work properly again.
An update: I tried to use the ssystem.ini file "selected asteroids" instead of
the "hendrik's comets list", and it has worked well. Perhaps the comets file
ok, final update: I tried to delete the file in program files... and
stellarium crashed, but i found another solution:
the files in program files and application data must be the same file.
Otherwise, the new objects does not appear. Thanks for helping!!!
but it still doesn't work with the great comets list. I really don't
The ssystem.ini file is very critical to syntax. There is most likely a small
error, like a missing comma or similar. This will cause Stellarium to crash on
