Is there a plugin that allows clear dark sky chats to be displayed in
stellarium, or does this feature need to be added with opengl programming of
stellarium's core c?
You seem to have CSS turned off.
Please don't fill out this field.
What do you actually mean
Do you mean to display the screen like a star chart. I think this is still in
the list of things to do.
You can do a screen dump (ctrl S) with inverted colours if you edit the
and make invert_screenshots_colors = true.
Not exactly, if you have ever went to www.cleardarksky.com, you'd see they
have clear sky charts, which display sky weather info. It would be easier if
there was a button i could press in the menu that would let me put in my zip
code and display the closest clear sky chart in stellarium, i'm not sure how
hard this would be to do but cleardarksky has a small api.
As far as I know there is no part of the stellarium project that those weather
patterns would have any particular relevance unless you want to similate a
cloud bank on the display. However if you wish to make a plugin with a link to
that site that is up to you.
If you run Stellarium in a window you will also be able to access the
cleardarksky website as a multitask.
Can plugins really be that extendable? I thought all they could do was print
text on the screen and move the veiwpoint.
I should really look at the wiki.
Plug ins take two forms. Static and Dynamic.
They are subprograms that can provide extra features for specific purposes and
must be loaded at start up.
Static plug ins are processed at compile time and become part of the
Stellarium package but dynamic plugs can in theory be added at any time by
anyone who cares to write a suitable program and compile it separately. If you
are a programmer the procedure for writing a plug in is in the wiki.
