Is it possible to control the amount of the stars visible?
I would like to restrict the amount of the stars by their visual magnitudes,
eg. 0-1 Magnitude, 2 magnitude aso.
You seem to have CSS turned off.
Please don't fill out this field.
There is no single parameter which can be modified to put a "limiting
magnitude" on star rendering. The limiting magnitude is determined by a
combination of current field of view, light pollution settings, and the values
of "Absolute Scale" and "Relative Scale" in the view dialog. In addition to
this, atmospheric extinction occurs close to the horizon, which may further
reduce visibility of dimmer stars. One last thing: dynamic eye adaptation -
when a very object is in the field of view, the display will "stop down" and
only brighter objects will be displayed.
Summary of all that: no.
