When I press ctrl-S , nothing happens except I have a message that says : ERROR Ste1AppSdl::saveScreenshot: screenshot directory is not writable : C:\Users\owner\Desktop

I'm sorry, I've posted the wrong link. It should be

      http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1839533&forum_id=278769
      "Screenshot Directory not writable"

Is it getting your Desktop directory path correct? (Don't worry about forward slash instead of backslash). If C:\Users\owner\Desktop is your Desktop directory path, then check the permissions... your user should be able to create new files in this directory.

      Further questions

      1. what version of Stellarium are you using?
      2. what version of Windows are you running?
      3. what is your user name (need to know if non-ascii characters in name)?
      4. what is your locate setting (language)?

      Hi
I'm using Stellarium 0.9.1 but the same thing happenned with version 0.9.0
I use Windows Vista ( Don't blame me , it came with the computer...)
The real path sould be c:\utilisateurs\owner\bureau because my computer is in french . That is probably the reason.

Looks like a bug to me. I raised a bug report for it:

      Thanks

As a workaround, try to remove the Read-only attribute from the Desktop directory:
