i dont know how should i put this.. anyway.. here it goes..

say... i am steghiding a txt in a picture file..
i want the data be retained even if some parts of the
resulting picture are cropped and sometimes even after
downsampling the picture quality

in my opinion.. it can be done like this.. the data
will be steg-ed
within a narrow square of the picture.. and then.. the
data will be again steg-ed in the ajoining
square...like this:

+-----------+-----------+----------+
| data | data | data |
+-----------+-----------+----------+
| data | data | data |
+-----------+-----------+----------+

this may enable the data to be retained while some
parts of picture is cropped isn't it? you can always
get the data from the other squares...i understand that
this can go to some extent...( not heavy cropping so
that it will loose all the squares)
the disadvantage is that only very very small data can
be stored compared compared to normal..

the second is downsampling..
i dont know how it can be done.. but i *think*
watermarks in photos are able to survive under minute
downsamples
try to check on this..
