Hello, it works fine now. I think I may have been using an older JVM before. Thanks for the help, I'm now using StatCVS for Libidn: http://josefsson.org/libidn/statcvs/ And will use it for GnuTLS, GNU GSS/Shishi/SASL as well, unless I run into some problem. Hi Simon, thank you for the log. I could parse the log without problems using v0.2.2, but I think I know what the problem is. The date parsing functions of your Java version seem to interpret something differently. Here is an attempt at a fixed statcvs.jar: http://page.mi.fu-berlin.de/~cyganiak/temp/statcvs-0.2.2.zip Does this one work for you? I'd also like to know the version and brand of JRE you're using to run StatCVS. CVS is the version control system that stores code changes. All revision information on the project is stored in CVS. StatCVS is the best tool I'm aware of for analyzing and presenting that information. I've used StatCVS for several years on both open source and closed source projects, and find it invaluable in assiting me in managing project resources. StatCVS will provide ststistics like lines per change, changes per developer, histograms of when changes are being made, and many more. You can see a sample set of StatCVS reports on the StatCVS web site here: http://statcvs.sourceforge.net/statcvs-stats/ another example, for the open source CRM project XRMS, is here: http://www.explorerfunds.com/dev/xrmsstats/ Bug reporting and tracking is a tool for a different application, like Bugzilla or Mantis. Both of the Bug tracking applications I've mentioned can be integrated with CVS (your version control system) so that there are linkages between the change made to fix the bug and the bug report. StatCVS will show you the commit comments on each change made to the code in an easy to navigate format, so you'll be able to see the bug numbers and comments that are linked to commit comments, if you've implemented integration as I described in the previous paragraph. StatCVS doesn't replace a bug tracking system, but can supplement the reporting available and make the project manager's life easier. I also tend to make extensive use on my projects of automated code documentation tools, like JavaDoc and PHPDoc (in Java and PHP), as these integrate well with CVS, StatCVS, Bugzilla, xUnit unit testing, and other development tools to provide complete development documentation. > Please let me know what else is available from CVS and then we can see > whether we can compensate you for your efforts. I'm a satisfied StatCVS user for many years and across many projects, some of which ran to millions of lines of code, and can highly recommend it for your development projects. My opinions are my own, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the StatCVS development team. Regards, - Brian |

Hi, I just wanted to know what kind of data is available from CVS. Like breakdown of bugs fixed per developer, reports, version release = etc... Please let me know what else is available from CVS and then we can see = whether we can compensate you for your efforts. Thanks Nitin Walia Oakland University |

This is strange. We know of the changed date format, and support it. I just tried to run StatCVS 0.2.2 (just released, because 0.2.1 had a serious problem) on a log looking like this: date: 2004-06-27 15:21:17 +0000; author: barnicke; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1 And this worked for me. The date format is exactly the same as yours. Are you 100% sure that you used StatCVS 0.2.1 and not something older? (Yes, I know you are. Apologies.) Maybe it's some locale thing? Can you send me a copy of the log, or at least a snippet? Thanks, Richard |

Hi all, StatCVS 0.2.1 contained a dumb error and basically wouldn't run at all. The new 0.2.2 release hopefully fixes that. Download: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/statcvs/statcvs-0.2.2.zip?download Apologies. Richard |

I forgot to mention, we also have a new website. http://statcvs.sf.net/ I hope that it is a bit more focused on what someone wants to know when he or she encounters StatCVS for the first time. It also validates. Comments are welcome. Anything missing? If you happen to have an exotic browser, could you please check if the site looks acceptable? Thanks, Richard |

Hi llchen, please download and install the new release of StatCVS, 0.2.1, which was released today and should fix your problem. You can download it from the homepage: http://statcvs.sf.net/ The problem is not related to chinese characters in the logfile. But I believe that they will not be displayed correctly in the HTML reports. That's something StatCVS cannot do at the moment. The StatCVS team is proud to announce the release of StatCVS 0.2.1. This major feature release adds five new charts, several new tables, compatibility with the most recent versions of CVS and CVSNT, integration with ViewCVS, many new options for customizing the reports, and many bugfixes. You can download StatCVS 0.2.1 from our homepage: http://statcvs.sf.net/ |

Hi Michael, > I am working with maven and statcvs.=A0 I created a statcvs.xml file=20= > where I map author names from our login names, to out actual names.=20 > I=92d also like to map to our pictures, rather than dummy.png. I=92ve=20= > searched and searched and have not found how to do this yet. StatCVS can't do that. But I believe that the StatCVS Maven Plugin=20 (which is developed by another group of people) might be able to do=20 what you want. Their web site is here: http://statcvs-xml.berlios.de/maven-plugin/ They have a mailing list: http://statcvs-xml.berlios.de/mail-lists.html Best, Richard= |

I am working with maven and statcvs. I created a statcvs.xml file where I map author names from our login names, to out actual names. I'd also like to map to our pictures, rather than dummy.png. I've searched and searched and have not found how to do this yet.=20 =20 Any help would be appreciated. An example statcvs.xml file would be prefect.=20 =20 Thanks for your help. =20 Michael R. Guess keeping the user list would be the best idea. -----Original Message----- From: sta...@li... [mailto:sta...@li...] On Behalf Of Richard Cyganiak Sent: Monday, October 11, 2004 5:45 PM To: sta...@li...; sta...@li... Subject: [Statcvs-users] StatCVS Mailing list reorganization? Hi everybody, StatCVS currently has three mailing lists: statcvs-announce (4 messages, 14 subscribers) StatCvs Announcement Mailing List statcvs-devel (123 messages, 23 subscribers) Discussion of StatCvs development statcvs-users (133 messages, 43 subscribers) StatCvs Users Mailing List I want to close down two of the lists. Having everything spread over three lists means that discussions are fragmented, people don't know where to post, and some people have to subscribe to multiple lists. StatCVS is a small project; one mailing list should be sufficient. I'm not sure which list to keep. Maybe statcvs-users simply because it has most subscribers. What do you, as the affected subscribers to those lists, think? Any objections or better ideas? Hi Ben, StatCvs needs Java 1.4 or newer. You probably have an older version.
