If we go down the line of the properties file, it could be interesting = avenues in terms of providing more information about the actual users on = the page. We could have some more fields like description, = r=C3=A9sum=C3=A9, contact email, contact phone... personal home page = link.=20 I know this diverges from the main StatCVS/StatSVN goals, but telling = more about the people who are building a particular piece of software = might be an interesting way to attract new users.... people could use = the stats as a reference on who did such and such module and contact = that person directly if needed. Some more user-oriented stats would help = in this direction, as well (show folder "leader" according to timeline). = I see user-oriented features as a distinctive factor StatCVS/StatSVN ... = most other tools I have played with focus on the code and repository, = not the people.=20 Jason -----Original Message----- From: sta...@li... = [mailto:sta...@li...] On Behalf Of = Benoit Xhenseval Sent: March 20, 2007 11:12 AM To: 'Richard Cyganiak' Cc: sta...@li...; = sta...@li... Subject: Re: [Statsvn-developers] Question about names... Hi *, A properties file may be enough but I would not make it specific to = "user" mapping, I feel that it would be too limiting as we add new = functionality. E.g. I think that the ability to define the modules is = very powerful, the developers can say all "this" is DB, and "that" is = GUi stuff and being able to quantify one versus the other one is = important; we would then have to may be create a second properties file? So a properties file could do for those, say users: users.benoitx.name=3DBenoit Xhenseval users.benoitx.image=3Da URL to my picture/avatar/etc (this is fun...) # modules.DB.pattern=3D**/persist/** title=3DStatCVS for XXX By the way, I would not suggest to piggy back on the Maven developers = for the mapping, it may be a starting point but this changes from time = to time as developers move on and get removed from that maven file. = Their statistics however stay behind, a userId -> name mapping is quite = definite. StatSCM is different because it can piggy-bank on Maven's files.
