But end users in general don't have PHP/Python/Apache on their desktop
boxes, so the "install" part has to be done by an admin, while the end user
does the "point your browser" part.

With the StatCvs approach, anyone with CVS access can create statistics,
regardless of the admin's willingness to provide a StatCvs installation.

But I admit that webserver-generated dynamic reports would be cool. Should
be easier for Subversion because of the explicit changesets.
