Getting Started

Installation

The module is implemented in Java 1.6 and. The graphical user interface has been implemented with Eclipse SWT.

StarUML application can be download from http://staruml.sourceforge.net .

You will need a JRE 1.6.0 or higher (32 bits) installed in order to run the module. You can download the latest Java VM from http://java.com.

Once the Java VM is installed, and the StarUML is installed, you can install the module unzip the file in the modules directory of the StarUML installation directory. If StarUML is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\StarUML, unzip the release file in C:\Program Files (x86)\StarUML\modules

Once the module is installed, a restart of the StarUML application is required.

Generating a UML model

The module's Reverse Engineer command is available through the menu Tools/Cxx/Reverse Engineer

A dialog is open to configure and perform the reverse engineer. As the reverse engineer is incremental, most of the configuration is saved in the StarUML model file to facilitate and speed up the action.

    I get a whole bunch of blocks that say "From CppReverse". So it's not very useful.

    there is no modules folder when installing staruml in both windows and mac apps, so any advice?
    I need to use it urgently

      The module is for UML 5.0, which is only for Windows 32bits
      You can download it from https://sourceforge.net/projects/staruml/

      It is described in the installation section, just unzip the zip file in the modules directory in the StarUml installation
