========================================================================================== UPDATE: 9-23-2013 - I recently looked through some of the code and fixed a couple small bugs. -- There is a pre-built binary in the /Debug directory, simply run the /area/startmud.bat to start up the mud, then connect to port 4000 using Mudlet or your favorite mud client.. Any Questions.. Email cbunting99@gmail.com and put StarterMud in the subject.. ========================================================================================== After you open the included workspace and build the mud, The rom.exe will be in the debug directory. You can move this to the area directory to run the mud on port 4000. The StartRom.bat menetioned below set the mud to port 5000. I normally leave the rom.exe in the debug directory. There is a .bat file in the area dir names StatRom.bat. You can right click on the bat file, choose send/send to desktop as shortcut. Then you can start the mud by clicking on the shortcut. I figured a shortcut may be easier but you can look at it, make changes and put the rom executable where you wish. I added some color. This was mainly from copying code from my linux rom that I can't run until I get the right hardware. It may look funny in Zmud or other clients, I'm not sure as I only use the free RoaClient that is offered at the RoaMud (Circle Deriv) site. ============================ NOTES ABOUT STARTER MUD ====================================== This is the very first version of StarterMud. It's based on Nick Gammon's Rom24B6 Windows Port. Installed OLC 1.71. <- Was my choice over 1.8/2.0 Lopes Colour V1.2. <- Less code basicly. I know there is 2.0 Another version of Do_Train by TAKA or Ghostmud. Allows players to train moves. I will add other code mainly by request. Post them to the list if you like to give me ideas. However, I'm not trying to go overboard with StarterMud. I'm still learning some aspects of coding and this helps me get familiar with MSVC and hopefully with C++ as I'll start converting StarterMud to C++ in the future. Anyone is more than welcome to submit changes, new code, and bug test. I don't plan on adding new areas but if anyone did anything that they would like to share, Then I'll offer it on the StartMud's Group page at Yahoo. =========================== ADDED IMMORTAL CHARACTER ===================================== To use the provided IMM char, Login with username admin, password, admin.
