One of the problems with my argument is that I write better with words then I do with code. :) I taught myself Perl so that I could pre-process some of Starmap's data files, and when I got the idea for OpenSphere, I learned MySQL to figure out the db structure. I'm basing my opinions off of that and general coding knowledge gleaned from years of hobbyism and CS roommates. So... Please, let's discuss a better way of doing it.
