#1 problem: gathing probes informations

I'm currently experimenting a problem with Systemtap GUI rc1, while I'm trying to test it on an x_86 Ubuntu 8.04 machine
I've tried both precompiled and source distribution, but I have always the same problem:
When I open IDE Perspective, SystemTapGUI starts to run each of the probes to gather information about the available variables. I have read that this is quite long phase but, in my case, I've tried to leave it run freely for about 30 minuts without obtaining a termination. If I analyse (always throught SystemTap) what is happening I can see a lot of open primarely on /lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/<various subdirectories>. It appears ad an infinite loop! It never stop)
Somebody know this kind of problem? Can suggest me something?
