I wonder if our issue is due to a requirement that we use a 1.4.2 JRE since the applications we are using use that JRE and do not support anything newer. -monica Monica Luke CRM Test Architect IBM Rational Software ml...@us... 781.676.7503 Sharon Lucas/Austin/IBM 08/09/2007 10:53 AM To Monica Luke/Lexington/IBM@IBMUS cc Monica Luke/Lexington/IBM@IBMUS, sta...@li... To resolve the problem, he re-compiled STAF for Linux and we have been using our own copy of STAF 3.1.3 since. This recently came up again as someone here set up a new machine & went out to the STAF site for the latest download... Unfortunately the person who did this work is no longer here, so I can't get any more details! I thought a defect was filed on this issue, but can't find one on the STAF site. Also searching the forums, I don't see that anyone else has this problem. So, I'm starting to suspect it might be something 'special' about us. Thought I'd check in with folks to see if anyone else gets a Java Core dump immediately on requesting a STAF handle on Linux. The interesting part of the core dump file is: -------------------- "main" (TID:1006B9B8, sys_thread_t:80773D0, state:R, native I 5 at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:21 at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:202 at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:824) at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:910) at com.ibm.staf.STAFHandle.<clinit>(STAFHandle.java:100) I'd be interested to know if anyone else is using STAF with Java Services on Linux and does not see this problem? In that case, I'd be interested to figure out what's different in our code or environments. We'd like to get out of the business of keeping our own copy of STAF for Linux. Thanks for any help. -Monica ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
