Hi Dan Use both, The LTP has a STAX script which will pull the latest version of the LTP, build it on the target systems and finally execute the LTP on the target systems. I would recomend developing for the LTP and resubmiting the additional testcases to the LTP, and use STAF/STAX to manage your test environment. This approach works fairly well for us. The STAX script for ltp is in the cvs tree on sourceforge http://ltp.sf.net. It should be of note that this script does a lot of reporting and if run on multiple systems and iterations it can slow the envrionment down considerably, we have a faster version of this script which should make its way into the cvs tree shortly my .02 -- James M Kenefick Jr. Linux Technology Center jke...@us... Looking for advise, There are many people in HP/Compaq that have experience with ltp, but not so many (I haven't found any yet) who have used staf/stax. I'm in the process of putting together yet-another testing environment and am soliciting advise on whether to develop based on ltp or stax. We already have an inhouse developed environment and are using a customer opportunity to redeploy our tests in an open source framework. Our target is various Linux distributions primarily at an application, appserver, and all-inclusive package list at a utilities level, such as those distributed with RHAS or SuSE/UL. We would like to be able to eventually use the same framework for stress testing, but our first few phases are for functional breadth of coverage but scripting interface to our existing tests (and those we find in ltp, etc. already). Our workload descriptions already use an XML-based driver, and we're interested in continuing that level of capability (albiet re-designed) with STAX. However, we're getting pressure to "keep it simple" by using ltp. Opinions welcome, Thanks, Dan _____________________________________________________________________ Dan Cernese da...@hp...
