There's a problem in your TCP network configuration when resolving the host name (not a problem in your STAF configuration). See sections "3.1.3 Explain RC 16 when attempting to send a STAF request to a remote machine ", "3.1.4 Why can't my STAF machines communicate?" and "3.1.5 Why aren't my entries in /etc/hosts being used for STAF communication (particularly on Linux SLES)?" in the STAF FAQ at http://staf.sourceforge.net/current/STAFFAQ.htm#d0e932 for more information.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
STAFConnectionProviderConnect: Error resolving host name: Error getting hostent structure for host name
I get this error while trying to ping the host.
I have changed Network interface statement
from
#interface tcp library STAFTCP Option Secure=No Option port=6500
to
interface tcp library STAFTCP
Is this the cause for this?
No.
